8th April

The course is open.

Further assessment for the coming weekend will be made later this afternoon.

Updates on this will be posted once a decision has been made and emails to members will follow.

3rd April

The front 9 is open for play.

Public and Competition rounds will be 9 holes only. The back 9 is expected to re-open on Saturday 9th of April.

31st March

The course remains closed today. Inspection will take place Friday at 10am.

As the rain continues we will assess the possibility of the front 9 opening for the weekend at 10am tomorrow. The sewage overflow around the pro shop needs to be cleaned up and the playability of holes will be determined. In particular holes 7, 8 and 9 which have been most prone to flooding.

The target for reopening the back 9 is Saturday 9th of April. All of these decisions are of course dependant on the weather being on our side.

Carts and ride-ons will not be permitted on the course until the ground conditions allow.

A further update will be provided Friday.

29th March

Course Closed
Current rain has set the condition of the course back by a number of weeks.
Last night's recorded fall of 130mm has caused major flooding across the course. The Sydney Water pump station is overflowing and sewage is once again flowing out of the toilets at the pro shop.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday competitions are cancelled and an assessment of the course will be made on Thursday regarding weekend play.

20th March '22

Front 9

The front 9 are the only holes available for play. Social and Competition rounds will be 9 holes only.

The rain on Friday and Saturday has made many areas very soft. Carts and Ride-Ons are not permitted until all areas dry out.

Back 9

The back 9 remains closed and will likely be closed until Saturday 26th. Regular assessment will be carried out throughout the week.

The 10th bridge has had a temporary repair and work will begin this week on a new bridge at the 11th.

Large deposits of silt and sand are being cleared from fairways. Many areas are wet again following Friday/Saturday rains.

4th March ‘22

Competitions Saturday 5th March and Sunday 6th March Cancelled

A course inspection today showed that most of the course is too wet to hold competitions. The front 9 is closed to all access. On the back 9 holes 10, 11, 12, 16, 17 and 18 are passable with sporadic wet areas. Holes 13, 14 and 15 are very wet.

Social play can be played on the back 9 only. Access to the proshop and buggy room is restricted with sewage overflow still affecting this area.

There are now two portaloos at the driveway entrance to the halfway area.

2nd March ‘22

The clean up on the course is now underway. There is a large crew from Sydney Water currently working on the front 9, they are clearing fairways and the creek beside the 1st of waste that has flowed over the course from the storm water.
The buggy storage, toilets and surrounding pro shop area is still affected by sewage overflow and remains un-accessible. Until the area is cleaned, it remains closed and off limits.
The forecast is for the continue of rain, therefore Wednesday 2nd competition has been cancelled.
Social golf can continue on the back 9 if weather allows.
Further updates will be passed on as we progress.

1st March ‘22

There is absolutely NO ACCESS to anybody on the front 9. The importance of your health & safety is paramount, anybody in contact with the overflow that is spread over the entire area are putting themselves at risk. Please, refrain from entering the vicinity.

From 12pm tomorrow, weather dependent, the back 9 may be accessible if you choose to come down for a hit.

Be aware, there will be no toilet facilities, nor kiosk availability, and no access to the buggy room to get your clubs. These areas are out bounds until a cleaning crew have completed the clean up that is required. At this point they are scheduled for Monday morning.

This situation is unprecedented and has resulted in the extended closure of Warringah for the very first time in our long history.

We will continue to keep you up to date with information as it comes to hand.
